"Hotel is nice and very clean. Food is also good but only problem is beach!!! Because no BEACH!!!! Not at all. This hotel has no beach so pool is overfilled and you have to woke up at 6am if you want to found spot, after that you will be without umbrella and deck chair."

"While the Hotel was great there are a couple of things to consider. 1 - this hotel has only one pool and there is loud house type music playing all day, if you like a quiet time at the pool this isn’t for you. 2. There is a lack of sun-beds and although they had signs saying no reserving nobody took any notice. 3. Although it is a small hotel they allow day visitors so the pool area gets very busy. 4. The hotel advertises 3 restaurants and the rooftop snack bar but some nights there would only be 1 restaurant open and others only 2. There was never a time when you had a choice from all 3 restaurants. This being said we had a great time, the food and drinks were good and the access to 5th avenue and all the bars and restaurants was excellent."

"Monkeys were so fun to watch. Good snorkeling on site when the weather cooperates. Beach restaurant so nice at breakfast. Staff are great other than check in. "

"We loved our stay at the Hotel RIU Palace Rivera Maya. When booking, we decided to upgrade our room to Elite U, because it provided us a view of the ocean from our room. Little did we know that having the "Elite" wristband would offer so many perks!! Not only did we get a room with a view, but we received a bottle of champagne in our room upon arrival, ability to make dinner reservations, scored bottles of wine/champagne when leaving restaurants, had our own Elite restaurant where the staff treated us like family AND a pool specifically for Elite members. The Elite U upgrade was definitely worth the extra cost."
