We traveled during the month of May as a family of 5 people ( 2 adults and 3 kids age 15, 12, and 9) Let me start by saying the food variety is amazing, ocean is beautiful and staff is super friendly. Ladies on the beach( Claudia and Monse) tend to provide nice entertainment. I highly recommend this resort.

Sandos is not a bad resort. Just has some really weird things that need to be worked out. First off the resort is huge and the shuttle around the resort is not the greatest.. second you can’t ever make reservations at any of the restaurants because they’re always all taken, but if you show up at the restaurant, there’s plenty of tables. People are making the reservations and not showing up well there’s no way to know that. Food was ok nothing special. Entertainment staff was good

The staff is very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the big shady area (palm trees)at the beach. The buffet is huge and the food is really good. The “coffee shop” has good iced coffees. The property overall is really nice but it was like a bait and switch for me. The property is full of raccoons roaming around. The rooms I booked weren't what I got. I booked two connecting rooms with a balcony, I was given disjointed rooms facing a brick wall with barb wire. The beach was unusable due to vast amounts of sargassum. There other parts of the resort that are very nice with lots of greenery. Most of the staffs were very helpful. What you think you booked isn't what you will get when you arrive.

First time staying at Sandos Playacar, definitely would come back. Resort was beautiful, beach was great. The girls at the Guest Experience (especially Zyanya) were amazing. They helped us book all dinner reservations while we waited for room to be ready. Also helped us to upgrade our room from a Family Junior Suite to an Adults Only Select room as these were closer to the beach and adult pool. The food was delicious, definitely recommend El Gaucho Steakhouse

The beach was clean and well provided with lounge chairs and activities for those who want them such as volleyball and water sports.
