Petit Lafitt was perfect for what we wanted. We had toured Mexico City, Merida, Tulum and finally Playa Del Carmen. We were aware this area would be very different to all those I'd mentioned before so opted for somewhere that would be more homely than the larger resorts.
It did not disappoint, food was freshly cooked every night rather than a buffet. You had two options and the menus changed daily for both breakfast and dinner. The beach front bar served a lovely lunch if you decided to have an...

Amazing stay in Playa del Carmen, checkin was fabulous with Luis (all staff were friendly and helpful), room was spacious, modern, spotlessly clean - hotel is quite new and very tastefully decorated. Lovely rooftop pool and well equipped gym on the ground floor. No restaurant service after breakfast but we knew that and there’s a lot of food choice around. Situated just off 5th Avenue, seconds walk to shops and restaurants at the quieter end of town. We would recommend a massage at Veronica’s...
