"Our 28th, and sadly, final stay at this property. Staff is still amazing, but the owner's penny pinching and baffling decision making is really starting to wear thin. Examples... When here in December, we noticed the absence of any seafood. No mussels or shrimp. We assumed it was because of the off season. In Feb (high season) still none. Bar was always running out of their most basic liquor [Bacardi). We watched the "Captain" bring a bottle to the pool bar so we tried to order one and were told that they were not allowed to open it til they were given permission.Wifi is still non-existent outside of the lobby. They still have the silly hammocks installed in rooms, but no dressers. The pool, once the most beautiful on the island, is completely falling apart. I get that this is a "budget friendly" resort, but after watching the decline over our past 4 stays, we feel that it's time to move on."

"Resort is beautiful with several pools and accessible bars by the pool side. Rooms are clean, the washroom just needs some updates and a bit more cleaning. The buffets are amazing but the an la cart menus at the restaurants need a bit of work. Staff very friendly. "

"We really enjoyed the newly renovated rooms. Only suggestion would be that the showers have somewhere other than the floor to put bath products. They needed to have a shelf in the bathroom. The property was clean and the staff was very friendly. We really enjoyed our time and would go back. In the future we would like to be able to reserve our restaurants in advance we couldn't do that in advance because we didn't have our room number to do it online prior to arrival. We had to eat at the buffett most days since the reservations were mostly booked up before our arrival."

"Resort was nice, the upgraded elite club package was a complete waste of money, all it got you was a pool with no pool chairs or shallow parts and a restaurant that had the same menu as their steakhouse pretty much. Resort had a major red ant problem. Definitely not worth the money."

"If the beach is your thing, this isn't the place for you. It is very narrow and rocky and attracts a higher than average amount of seaweed which has a strong odor. The cabanas, which must be rented by the day, take of the edge of 80% of the pool side space."

"The property is ideal if you want city and beach life. The rooftop pool was great with views you cannot get from ground pools! We were upgraded to a Master Suite which was spacious and clean. We had an issue with the AC in the last couple days but were told it was because you could not set the thermostat lower than a specific degree which was not the case or problem. We had friends in another room that had to use extra blankets because it was so cold. However, we did not press the issue too hard with the staff so more on us than them. Bar staff and servers in all locations were attentive and personable. Food selection was great - smaller facility means more taste and quality when not mass produced. We also chose the Elite option and visited the other 2 sister resorts a few times. Playacar had a great beach and Coco Beach was smaller but also very nice. The shuttle service was a bit confusing (need to be on a list?) and can get full so make sure you check before going. All in all a wonderful stay and we will be back!"

"Had a garden view this time which was great, we weren't in the room much so the view wasnt that important. This hotel has a beach front position which provides all the view you need"

"The family suite was a great room for a stay with children. The murphy beds were comfortable enough for the kids and the king bed was great for the parents. The staff were great, juan the server at Los Moreales was great offering the best service we experienced. Geo and Danna at the kids club became quick staples to the kids trip always offering some diverse activities when a break was needed from the pool and beach. The staff was always welcoming and never felt pushy or rude. They were genuinely interested in making our stay enjoyable. The food was great, especially the restaurants with reservations, the buffet was solid and themed every night... all around a fantastic resort. Highly recommend it, will be back! "
