Absolutely loved our time at Palmaia - the food was incredible (as a usually non-veg/vegan it was a huge treat and has inspired my husband and I to reduce our meat intake because we never missed it), the staff were all really lovely, the room had a great view and the beach was fab. We also went to several of their activities and the spa and really enjoyed them. Perfect spot for our babymoon/honeymoon!

We stayed in a number of hotels on the Mayan riviera in Mexico and the Yucatan and this was by far and away the best hotel. It had the best beach on the riviera, the room was in great condition, clean and very well presented, the staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating and the food and drinks in the all inclusive were brilliant - fresh cooked to order. Compared with many resorts which are too big, over populated, with catches to the all inclusive and the food cooked en mass, this was a...

The hotel does breakfast only this is buffet style with a variety of cereals fruits yoghurt etc as well as hot food. There is a lovely pond out the back of the hotel that has turtles in it. Very clean swimming pool area. Tvs in rooms as well as free wifi at this hotel. They don't serve evening meals but it's a short taxi ride away to restaurants & shops.

The hotel is small & friendly. We took 4 teenagers who spend far too much time on their phones & they had a fantastic time. The activity team got them doing joining in with Yoga, Aqua Aerobics, Zumba, Beach Volleyball, & loads of games on the beach.
The beach is lovely & the food & drinks flow all day.
I can’t recommend it enough, we had one of our best holidays ever.

Basic on par with a Travelodge I suppose. This was reflected in the price. No English speaking reception staff. Sandra the information lady was delightful and spoke English.

Overall a very good week. Room was clean and perfectly adequate if a bit dated in decor. Hotel has plenty of varied things to do during the day which we appreciated. The wedding ceremony we attended was very well organised. Giving this 4 stars as the food was mostly average.

Our first visit to Mexico and we thought we would try a trusted hotel chain. We were not disappointed. For those wanting great weather, pampering, a dose of nature and a good beach, the Banyan tree is the answer. The walk to the beach from the main hotel could be a little daunting for some, but we did it a coupe of times a day and really enjoyed the wonderful wildlife in the lagoons. Staff were brilliant if a little over attentive sometime due to low occupancy.
Downsides - beach had a little...
