"the staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were old, but clean and functional. The only caveat was the restaurant - the food was good, and the prices were equivalent to the rest of the Central London restaurants, but they were out of a lot of common things - cabernet sauvignon wine, etc. - and the staff was not especially friendly - but again, this seems to be common at the Central London restaurants we visited. By far the best part of our visit was the hotels location - it was a 3 minute walk to Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, and Parliament, a n 8 minute walk to St. James part and Buckingham Palace - and it is close to the Strand and Charing Cross shopping/restaurant areas - there is even an excellent Waterstone's bookstore directly across the street - where you can get a great, and inexpensive, latte."

"Excellent hotel stay. Great value for the price. The location is perfect if you want a daily view of Big Ben and the London Eye. The Hop On Hop Off bus stop is a block away. The rooms were very comfortable and the staff extremely friendly. Loved the bowlers worn by the valet crew!"

Good variety for breakfast but not very warm by 9am Friends had difficulty checking in on line so didn’t book breakfast. Was told at check in could pay in the morning. Nowhere did it say they charge 7.50 more each on top of the 15 pound we paid."

"The staff was very helpful, especially Vi, who helped us before and during our trip to make it extra special. The hotel’s location was ideal for walking to tourist destinations, and great restaurants. It was elegant, not a kitschy area but if you want that Picadilly Circus is close."
