Great hotel. Service and food are outstanding. My only complaint might be that my booked "junior suite with ocean view" technically had ocean view if you count a tiny sliver of blue on the horizon. Apart from that the place is insanely comfortable clean and well organized and that in a huge jungle area. Friendly staff, lovely clean room with a balcony overlooking the pool. Hot shower, fridge, coffee and milk frappe with complementary biscuits every day, beach/pool towels. Fresh water available in the lobby with percolated coffee. Kitchen available to use with a microwave, toaster and kettle. We bought our own breakfast but there was a cafe just across the road. The rooms are really clean and comfortable - and it was great to be right on the beach and in the heart of the Tulum beach strip. Plus having our own beach chairs and bringing our own snacks and drinks worked well for us. It's opposite Hartwood - one of the area's best restaurants, which is amazing. At night, the music from the restaurant next door is very loud on Friday and Saturday nights so it's best to stay out until later to avoid the loud music.

Top draw holiday, could not fault anything. Clean, superb staff, great pools, top facilities. Would highly recommended for everyone.

Can not recommend this hotel enough. The service/ staff / setting were al perfect. We had issues with our card on checking in and the hotel were so easy going about us paying a few days later. The barmaid Barbara manager Dan and lovely Silvina on reception were all wonderful as were staff in Ziggys!. So friendly and helpful and we will definitely come back.

We loved our stay at Akumal Bay. The staff at the resort were excellent and the location was perfect. The food at the buffet was good and the evening entertainment was also very good. The only negative was the morning “fight” for the loungers at the beach and on our first day, because we arrived in the afternoon, there were no towels left. Beautiful large hotel complex built around the Mayan jungle. Everything about this place is amazing from the stunning natural beauty to the wildlife you are living amongst. Staff can't do enough to help you and make your holiday special. The spa is one of the best I've seen and I recommend Gloria who was an amazing Massage. There are 9 a la carte restaurants as well as 5 more buffets so always plenty of choice to eat. Entertainment is also second to none, 2 shows every night by the POP team....

Hotel was lovely, big spacious rooms. Great attention to detail by the staff. Free parking was handy and nice that breakfast is included. Beach location is perfect. Worth the extra money to go for the rooms with the rooftop bath and beds. The stars at night in Tulum are like nothing I have ever see before.

Restaurants were top notch. Inconvenient if you want to step out. Taxi services are over priced. Overall a good experience. Would reccomend jf you want to enjoy one place with some amazing restaurants!

My partner Leanne & I had a wonderful time in Puerto Aventuras and the other areas of the region we were lucky enough to visit. The locals were very friendly and even with my poor Spanish communication was not a major issue. At no point anywhere we went did we feel insecure or unsafe.
