Playa Palms Beach Hotel has beautiful rooms, is very clean, and is close to local attractions.
However, after 6 days of an 8 day stay, we were on the PDC beach when a series of messages arrived on my phone from the hotel. I blocked the sender because I initially thought it was spam. Apparently we had to move rooms, because someone had booked the room we were in via the website and not Expedia, and therefore resulted in us having to move our room. They claimed this was on the form when we signed in, and then brought out the form with this info handwritten in? We were never informed about this, only learned about it while relaxing on the beach. Not only is this bad business, but was also extremely disruptive. I wonder how many times a person would potentially have to move with this kind of policy?
Also, their small beach became filled with seaweed, and after a number of days, it became very foul smelling. Other places in the area have a mechanism for removing the seaweed, but this hotel is unable to do so due to the layout. I understand this is a natural phenomenon and out of their control. However, given this, one might suggest that they would be more accommodating to their guests.
