This is a solid option, the restaurants are mostly good and the workers/servers in a majority are very kind. Definitely try Eden and say hi to Ofelia, she’s fantastic and was by far the best server. Eden has good tacos, Maria’s’ has solid breakfast, La Pergola is meh, Trajineras you can definitely skip, Los Riscos is quite delicious, El Patio has good options, Barolo is nothing special and Il Forno won’t disappoint. The pools are very nice, clean and spacious. You can only move around in the golf carts and you have to call some of them in advance. I once had to call twice and they took about 30 minutes to come pick me up. Beware, be ready to tip because if you don’t, they give you looks. My biggest problem with this place is their relentless push to make you a member, it starts at the airport and (for us) it continued until day 3 of our time here. The people REALLY want to push you to have breakfast with them and they will sell you their 90 minute pitch. I know how it works so I declined several times. They tried to get you by offering you a big discount on activities. Feel free to decline, and it’s okay to say no. Something else I noticed was that it looked like they were understaffed. At other hotels, there would be 3-4 people taking orders by the pool, Hacienda Encantada had one. It’s not the workers fault that sometimes a simple water would take 20 minutes.
Overall, Hacienda has potential. It has gorgeous views but no access to the beach. Small improvements can help.
