Great Location and Friendly Staff, but Some Minor Letdowns I recently stayed at Silversands Hotel Boutique in Playa del Carmen, and overall, I had a great experience. The hotel is perfectly located on 5th Avenue, right in the heart of the action, surrounded by shops, restaurants, and the lively atmosphere that makes Playa del Carmen so special. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, which I really appreciated. The staff were incredibly friendly and responsive, always ready to help with anything I needed. However, there were a couple of small disappointments. The shower wasn’t great, which was a bit frustrating, and I was surprised that the room didn’t come with an electric kettle, which would have been a nice touch for making tea or coffee. Despite these minor inconveniences, the location and service made up for it. If you’re looking for a central stay in Playa del Carmen with a buzzing atmosphere, this is a good option!

We quite enjoyed our stay at SilverSands, the location on 5th ave was great though it was a bit loud during the weekends at night. The room itself was a little dirty but for the price we paid we weren’t expecting a 5 star hotel. We felt safe in this hotel as it has an exterior door at the bottom of the entry stairs. Overall if you’re looking for a budget hotel we do reccomend! We suggest walking down to 30th ave for the best street food and MUCH cheaper prices than an 5th ave :) there’s lots of little taco stands and other food places on 30th and all the streets between 5th and 30th. There is also a Sunday market on I think 54th street!!

We came to our hotel and there was cigarette stains on the couch, weird stains on the sheets, furniture was falling apart and had duct tape on holding it together at places. No safe, the lock was with a key but no dead bolt. The area was also questionable. It was difficult to locate the actual area. We left imidiately and found another hotel. Do not stay.

Great central location. Good sized room. Nice staff (Robert). You can walk just about anywhere from the motel. Its a short walk tobthe beach and they give you access to Martina Beach Club. Win-win!

We checked in and the room had stains on the furniture and the “clean” bedding. We were honestly afraid we’d get bed bugs. There was a couch that didn’t seem even suitable to sit on for a short amount of time. They advertise a rooftop pool which doesn’t exist. We had to leave and find a new place to stay within 15 minutes of arriving. What a waste of money and our efforts. As regards to safety, the doorknob seemed like anyone could come in on us at any point. To top it off, nobody at Silversands could speak much English so there was no point complaining so we just left and had to pay to stay elsewhere for our stay.

Property is in a prefect location. The wifi was non-existant. I had to sit at the bar across the street to work. The windows were covered with dark drapes that don't move. Adequate kitchen. If you don't need wifi or use the room much, it's in a good location.

Microwave did not work. Bathroom did not drain and had to take shower in standing showered water. No one at front desk to check us out. And door lock at the street level gate stuck a lot and was difficult to operate. But one handyman helped me and got the gate open this morning and sprayed down the lock with WD40. Very nice man.

STAY AWAY!

I have never seen such a HORRIBLE DIRTY HOTEL like this one. No receptionist, just some whatsapp # and had to wait 45 minutes to than be led to a room with dirty sex stained sheets, an ac that leaks over the bed, dirty grimy sliding glass windows with a large crack in in. Fish smelling fridge, fingerprints on coffee pot, was told there was no cleaning crew and the owner to the hotel could care less. The man who let us into the room was just hired 2 days prior. THIS HOTEL SHOULD NOT BE LISTED IN ANY WEBSITE. yes the area was convenient but then again, crack houses are cleaner. You choose.
