"Firstly I have to say that I am totally unaccustomed to leaving negative reviews, but sadly I have to say "don't go" to this, no doubt once very classy, little boutique hotel. Before going any further it is worth mentioning that the staff (we only saw 3!) were lovely, extremely well meaning, and obliging. (We're guessing/deducing, severely let down by an absentee owner). Apart from the staff, the only other attribute was the superb position, overlooking and directly onto the river estuary....

"The hotel is one of the worst hotels we have stayed in. I have been to this hotel as a child and it was a fantastic hotel back then but now its gone down so much! The room was dirty and had a terrible smell.The room looked like it wasn't clean for years. We complained to the manager and he move us to another room and it was also very dirty and my partner showed the manager the dirty parts of the room and the manager agreed that the room is not clean. "It was wonderful to return here - I love this hotel. The gardens are beautiful and the beach is clean and fabulous for swimming and long walks. The staff are outstanding. In many years of travel I don’t think I’ve ever seen a hotel staff member more dedicated than the pool guy (pool is great for swimming laps too - 25m). The housekeeping team were great too - and surprised me daily with towel ‘art’ and flowers on the bed. Excellent food too! "

"The resort is the labor of love of Chamal the owner. 9 private and beautifully done villas set in the middle of nature. We had lunch and dinner everyday in the restaurant by the river. Loved the property, service was warm and friendly and seafood was superb. Great find!"

"Stayed one night. It was a pleasant stay. We had an overly smelly (too strong of whatever air freshener they use) room so they let us sleep in the room next door. Both rooms had two single beds put together. Slept comfortably. Breakfast was simple but good. The pool is a nice amenity and the private beach is beautiful. Pleasant stay for one night."
