"A gorgeous spot a little back from the beach (about 1km) but walkable, and easy to get tuktuks. No frills rooms that were delightful. Super friendly hosts who are very familiar with the area and can offer advice and recommendations if needed. The most fabulous breakfast selection each morning, always with variation. Would love to return and totally recommend this spot. "

"This is a lovely family owned guest house with clean rooms, good food, and amazing hosts. They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and welcomed. I am frequently in Hikkaduwa and every time I book here without hesitation. Highly recommend it. The only downside is it is right near the train tracks and you will be waken in the morning by the whistles and rush of the train going by- but if you're an early bird or get back to sleep it's totally worth it."

"The property is situated in a peninsula in Kalutara on a road with almost no traffic, a pleasant surprise in such a busy (and wonderful) city. The beach is lovely, but not swimmable because of strong currents. The room was large and bright. The washroom was clean, and the shower was awesome. "The hotel is small and friendly and set in a lovely position, it's quite basic but this is all part of the charm, the staff are all friendly but I'm not sure that this is completely genuine. The free breakfast is more than ample, only the two family rooms appear to have T.V. the hotel menu is limited. The manager/owner assures us that next year will have installed safe deposit boxes etc. Titus the hotel owner will arrange trips out at competitive prices. Staff there have basic English language...

"We loved staying at Mihin villa with Mahinda and his family. We were initially booked for 2 nights but extended our stay to 4. Really comfortable room, big bathroom with hot water. The WiFi worked well and there was a fridge in the room which was an added bonus. Fantastic traditional breakfast cooked by Mahinda's wife which we ate in the lovely garden.
