Perfect hotel, very close to beach. Ideal for relaxing and enjoying the sun by the sea or poolside. Rooms are spotless and spacious with everything laid out well. All food is freshly cooked and the service flawless. We were looked after incredibly well by Anura and Dominic who could not do enough to help. Many thanks to all the staff.

First time in Sri Lanka. Simply one of the best hotels we have stayed in anywhere. Friendly, courteous staff who couldn't do enough for us, a superb room with a balcony offering a beautiful beach view. We stayed five nights and didn't bother to eat anywhere else - the food was excellent. We wanted to take the chef home with us. We took long walks along the beaches and spent a lot of time in the wonderful hotel grounds and by the very stylish infinity pool. We want to visit Sri Lanka again soon...

A family business run by Himmel. The property sits right next to Bentota Lagoon. There is a daily shuttle to and from the beach. The accommodation is in a block of two floors. The rooms are clean and spacious with plenty of storage space and a large furnished patio or balcony overlooking the pool and lagoon. The rooms are kept very clean by very friendly staff. We had a wonderful stay at Villa 80. Our room was comfy and Henry, his wife and staff couldn't do enough for us. The tranquil garden was a real haven and the pool was a bonus. We weren't far from excellent beaches and the railway station. A tuktuk was available to run us to wherever we wanted to be whether to the local market or local gardens. And the breakfasts were excellent.

This is an ideal hotel to unwind and when you have, go explore the real Sri Lanka. Our Tuk-Tuk driver was superb in helping us with every thing out side the hotel, ie eating out for a change and trip, his name is Thomas. hope you enjoy the experience as much as we did.

Great place, great location! beach just 100 meters, pool 50 meters, amazing rooms & great view, great staff ( helped us with early check-in) and always ready to help. Other attractions near by - Bentota river, water sports, great local market 10 minutes walk from hotel for small souvenirs. We had four nights at Wunderbar, 2 adults and 1 child. We had a triple room over looking the pool and it was lovely. The hotel is right by a beautiful beach and has shops and restaurants nearby. We had a wonderful time at this hotel, every single member of staff was friendly, polite, helpful, professional and made our stay truly enjoyable. My son loved the pool which was clean and safe. Nice location right on the beach with comfortable sun loungers and plenty of shade, if desired. my husband liked the fact that the pool was shaded too. Staff were friendly and helpful

Absolutely perfect in every way. Great value for money. Beautiful view from our balcony over the lovely swimming pool. Breakfast was massive! Abu was really helpful. He also picked us up from the airport, and drove us to Hillary’s via a turtle hatchery and a boat trip on the River Madu. I would definitely recommend him as a driver if you’re looking for someone reliable.

My partner and I stayed at the Surf Hotel for 10 days in February 2018. Our room was a good size with a comfy double bed, good clean bathroom and a great view of the pool and beach from our balcony.
