"Catalonia Bavaro has become our new annual vacation resort. While we preferred the adults only (Royal Bavaro) resort, the overall vibe of being surrounded by the beautiful Dominican nature, friendly staff and increadibly tasty cuisine they have to offer; truly made our stay unforgettable! Great value and the property is well maintained. Absolutely had a great time at Catalonia resorts."

"We wasted 2 days of our vacation: first night was in bldg 41, in horrible conditions: no AC until midnight, then with the extreme noise, old, dirty furniture, disgusting bathroom, grey towels. We showed the cockroach to the staff next morning and they promised to change it. We spent all day until 6 pm without the room. In the bldg 51, the room was ok. Staff was good. Beach area very nice "

"View from the room was fabulous but the part we stayed in was older and very worn but everything worked. We got woken up several times a night due to noisy neighbors partying till 2 - 3 - 4 am. It was not the restful break we were looking for but the food was excellent and so too the staff."

"The hotel receptionist did not provide any information about the hotel upon arrival. We had to visit the front desk to request pool towels and obtain basic hotel details. During checkout, we had to carry our luggage down two flights of stairs and walk to reception because no one responded to our request for assistance. We stayed in Room 201-K, a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom unit. The furnishings were very simple, and the twin beds were quite uncomfortable. Upon entering the unit, there was a strong humidity odor, and there were many mosquitoes inside the room. No elevators. The master bathroom consistently had a strong sewage odor, similar to untreated wastewater, which made it very unpleasant. Additionally, the glass shower door was not installed properly and swung from side to side, creating a safety hazard when entering the shower. I did report this issue during checkout. The kitchen was not properly equipped; there were no basic supplies available, not even a kitchen towel. The Wi-Fi connection was extremely slow. The reception staff appeared very disorganized, and overall the unit felt outdated and in need of a full renovation. Pros:The beach was nice, and the food was acceptable. The servers were very kind and attentive. The pool area was nice, although it was not as large as advertised. Guests have the option to add an all-inclusive package or stay without it. spacious, large closets, good air conditioning, fans."

"I had a wonderful stay at this massive and beautiful resort, which offers a great balance of grand scale and genuine hospitality. The staff throughout the property are incredibly friendly and attentive, though I would suggest that the restaurant servers have a stronger command of English to help the ordering process run more smoothly. I would also love to see the resort expand their menu to include more vegetarian and vegan options, as the current selection is a bit limited. The adults-only side of the resort is particularly impressive—it’s peaceful, quiet, and the perfect place to unwind. I also highly recommend taking advantage of the on-site professional photographers if you want high-quality photos to remember your trip. Overall, it was a fantastic experience that I would definitely recommend to others."
