"Check in was fast. The room allocated to me was easily accessible and very spacious. The plumbing system needs to be repaired. I found something floating in the wc when I first got into the room. Thought the housekeeping did not do a thorough job, but after I flushed the toilet, the floating objects kept reappearing. It was rather disgusting. The hotel has a pub and food was good, service was great too. "

"We had a couple of issues with the room. There was a leak on the tap and the bathroom vent did not work so a little steamy after a shower but we told the staff and they confirmed it would be fixed. Had a lovely lunch and dinner there and a great central place for touring the area. "

"This hotel is a pub with rooms above. It is a period building so has it's quirks but that adds to it's charm. Our room was spacious & bathroom was very clean. Other furnishings a little tired & electrics need updating as extension leads with multiple sockets pose a safety issue. Food was excellent & staff were amazing. Definitely would stay again as in a great location in town. "

"Really convenient for walking into Oxford, not far from the river. Abingdon road is busy but the double glazing is really effective (we were at the front of the house). Super-clean, friendly staff - thank you!"

"Lovely grounds and area. The room was of good size and the bed was comfortable. Unfortunately, it had been a hot day and we didn't check in until late. We found the room boiling hot as no windows were opened. There was a fan in the room which made a incredibly loud racket and the doors to the balcony wouldn't open. We slept not well as a result of how hot it was. I'm sure our experience was a one-off but my feedback was brushed aside at check out. "

"We stay 1 night while visiting Oxford. Hotel location was good few restaurants and supermarket nearby. Bus stop close by into city centre. Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Carpark £15 a night. Room clean but very small, no shelves or table to put anything on. Tea/coffee machine in reception £2. For one night was fine "

"Ideal location for JRH hospital. Proprietor phoned us en route and gave us directions to the property. He was waiting outside to greet us and guide us to car park. Our room was clean and comfortable and we had a good night’s sleep."
