"Lovely staff, lounge areas are exquisite.
Restaurant is very expensive, as are all beverages from the hotel - even before the 12.5% mandatory service charge. Expect a dinner bill of ยฃ200 + for just two guests and one bottle of wine - it really is not worth it for the minuscule portions."

Very attentive staff despite arriving on a busy Saturday evening. Clean rooms, nice food with great service. Parked round the back so don't panic if no parking at the front. Booked family room which was on first floor - but no lift so tricky with baby buggy. Also room was quite warm and AC didn't work, but saying that I would book here again and was happy with this hotel.

We went to the mill theatre and decided to stay over at the hotel. It was in an ideal position as only a short walk to the theatre. The room was lovely

Its great to find a hotel you can stay for just one night over the weekend. I was looking for somewhere close to London (34 miles away), with great reviews, good food and accommodation and places to visit nearby. The Bel and Dragon had all of that. The room was tastefully furnished (with free sloe gin - added bonus!) and the hotel was cosy and characterful. We enjoyed a drink in the bar and a great dinner (although I noticed the bar food also looked enticing. There is a snug for hotel guests...

We had a friendly welcome from Jane and her staff. The room was comfortable and breakfast was excellent. The pub closed early on Sunday night, so we had to go elsewhere for food, but it meant a very peaceful night. Strongly recommended!

From the moment we checked in the whole stay was second to none, normally this is a one or perhaps two night stay but we had about a week there. The staff were so helpful and very courteous on all levels, the room was clean and lovely bath towels provided. We used the fridge and iron and there video choices, even the water provided was a welcome touch. The morning breakfasts were delightful and catered for everyone, staff exceptional even when busy. Absolutely lovely stay at The Royal oak. Beautifully decorated throughout, with a really warm and homely feel. Staff were welcoming, dinner and breakfast were first-class and my room was spotlessly clean with a great bathroom and comfy bed. Would definitely return, I stayed for work but it would be a lovely place for a weekend away.

The rooms are spacious well designed - great beds and pillows and excellent bathrooms and nice touches - excellent
Only slight draw back is late entry access with a dark doorway / keypad hard to see without a torch and as unmanned from 11pm being in central Reading feels slightly insecure especially 12midnighf plus

Havenโt been to Aviator Hampshire for a number of years, but it was just as lovely as I remembered. Room, Sky Bar, Breakfast, Staff - all exceptional. Special mention to Will on the front desk and Poppy who was assisting with breakfast in the morning. Iโd highly recommend and I plan to return in the near future. Thank you!
