"The location is excellent, staff are very professional and helpful. Stayed in junior suite, large room, quiet aircon, quiet from any street noise and very comfy bed. It’s an older colonial style building but we enjoyed that charm, rather than sterile hotel. Pool is adequate for a cool dip. Highly recommend."

"Hanoi Royal Premium Hotel is a good hotel located in the crowded Old Quarter. The hotel room is updated and offers a nice respite from the sites and sounds outside. It is compact, but comfortable and clean. Breakfast is included and is good. There is an interesting and intelligent young lady who works the breakfast shift - I'm sorry I don't know her name. The hotel is reasonably priced and all the staff is helpful and professional."

Only downsides were fairly expensive bar drinks for Vietnam, and only one elevator that doesn’t go the whole way to the restaurant or rooftop, which we could see impacted some other travellers.
