"Good value guesthouse"
The guesthouse is in Summertown in North Oxford, which is a small but bustling town with lots of facilities very close by: lots of restaurants, a couple of pubs, supermarkets, and a few other shops. There is a regular bus link to the city centre, or it's roughly a 25-30 minute walk to Broad Street.
The staff at the hotel are very friendly and accommodating, and check-in/out were very easy. The room was of a good standard: spacious, pretty clean, and with a large en suite bathroom. The shower was temperamental the first morning of my stay, but was better the next day. The double bed was fine - large and comfortable, but with a small difference in level in the middle (it was two singles pushed together).
The hotel is mostly quite quiet, but there was occasionally a small amount of noise on the main stairs, e.g. with families leaving early. This was not a large problem, though. Breakfast was very good, and generous - it was essentially continental-style (croissant, toast, cereal, yoghurt), plus boiled eggs, tea, coffee on request.
Overall, I had a good stay - the hotel was good value, close enough to the centre of Oxford, and the staff were very friendly.
