"All round excellent hotel"
A very comfortable room, friendly staff, excellent mattress, functional clean bathroom (not always a given in this country) and excellent breakfast in cosy surroundings. I will definitely stay here again. Thanks!

"Nice hotel very close to pear tree park and ride"
Free parking, very reasonably priced bar menu and Starbucks coffee on site. We didn't have time to visit the pool or spa, as we headed into Oxford itself.

Welcome Break Service Area, Oxford - Map
"Decent, low priced room, 20 mins from Oxford"
Liked the location on the London side of Oxford. It was attached to a service area including fuel and multiple restaurants. The rooms were bare essentials, but we were only there one night and it was fine for us, especially for the price.

The hotel is remote from the city its for relaxation yet for travellers is not recommended. The hotel is three floors without elevator. Elderly people should insist on first or second floor The villa the interior the pool and the gardens are breathtaking

Green Gables Guest House

326 Abingdon Road, Oxford - Map
"Decent B&B for the price"
If you are looking for a cheap, no-frills B&B within easy access of downtown Oxford, Green Gables will suit you just fine. The couple who owns the place are very nice and were more-than-accommodating with my late arrival time (they request check-in no later than 10pm. I arrived at 11pm with no problems). The rooms are very tiny but comfortable and clean — all with ensuite bathrooms. The complementary breakfast is decent (options include cereal with toast, fresh fruit, full English breakfast, vegetarian breakfast with sautéed mushrooms, beans, an egg and toast, etc.). The coffee is served in a French press and is quite good. Some things to note: - the free wi-fi on the second floor is spotty — decent on the first floor - budget yourself at least 25 minutes for a cab to arrive during the morning and evening rush hours - it's less than a 10-minute cab ride to downtown Oxford from Green Gable - there's not much around the B&B itself, but it's about a 25-minute walk to central Oxford from Green Gables - it's difficult to find a local restaurant or pub open after 11pm during the week - there is one iron available. You'd be wise to pre-iron your clothes before travelling - there is a bus stop directly out front of the B&B Bottom line: you could do much worse for $100/night.

Euro Bar and Hotel

48 George Street, Oxford - Map
"Cheap looking hotel, good location, okay price"
My room was at the top of the stairs and I had a LOT of luggage which was a real pain to get up and down. The TV and light in the bathroom didn't work. It was a little bit noisy because of the bar downstairs and being on the main clubbing street.

"Small homey hotel could do with fire alarm repair"
Arrived 11 am very sleep deprived from prior activities. Was able to leave my bags, then check in promptly at 2 pm and nap easily. Owner Pete was very nice. Room was adequate. Floor had irregular surface occasional depressions under the carpet. No light at desk. Seemed clean. I would stay here again if they improved/replaced the fire alarm system. Awakened at 12:15 AM by fire alarm, had to evacuate building for 20 min. Seemed as if no hotel staff actually slept on premises-had to wait for someone to drive from another part of town to shut off the false alarm. I was told the alarm had gone off once or twice earlier in day. About 1 am, at a time when I was deeply asleep again, alarm went off briefly 2 more times.

"Lovely hotel and location"
We stayed in the converted barn outside, really comfortable great beds which seemed longer than average. Well presented and comforable furniture(TV a little small) The wet room bathroom is suitable for wheelchairs but just as nice for ourselves. The breakfast was excellent local produce very good. The staff are welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for them. A beautiful location able to walk in the surrounding countryside which is very quiet. I would higly recommend and will also be returning ourselves
