"The property is very good for the authentic experience. A bit older but still modern (washrooms could be upgraded). It's really for the onsen experience and the food. A true spa resort! We went and it was early spring and rainy so less to do around the area."

"The location was excellent just a short walk to Moto-Hakone and nearby restaurants. The walk back uphill is definitely doable, but I’d recommend taking a taxi, especially after a long day out. The home itself is tucked away in the mountains, offering a peaceful and private setting. It was beautifully designed and comfortably accommodated our family of six. "Fabulous beautiful location by the lake, convenient to public transport and easy views of Mount Fuji. It’s a brand new hotel with many amenities, good size room, exceptionally attentive staff plus the owner is incredibly nice and offers all kinds of tours. They also have vilas with private Onsen which we definitely will try next time! "

"It was quite a journey from the station to the ryokan. Well worth it. Elaborate Japanese dinner and breakfast. Outdoor onsen. The new part of the lodge is 80 years old. It has been on this spot for 300 years. Quick bus ride to Lake Ashi next morning. "
