"The onsens and meals were very nice. It was an excellent experience of staying in a traditional ryokan.
A bit of a hike if you walk up the to the ryokan from the train station and taxis are practically not present, luckily you can leave your luggage at the ryokan before check in and go explore the town"

"Beautiful hotel. Clean baths and artistically designed. Convenient location, walking distance to train station, albeit a steep walk with luggage, but the sister hotel at the bottom of the hill will provide a shuttle. Great, traditional dining. I would stay here over and over again."

Incredible place with such amazing staff. The room and food were incredible and I would highly recommend this place to anyone, specially the rooms with their own private onsen!

Brilliant place. A bit out of the way and quote an uphill walk but the quiet setting, plenty of space and the traditional dining room within the accomodation was well worth it.

Room was fantastic, the in-room onsen was an amazing bonus. But the view wasn’t really ‘mountain’ - instead it was a giant bush and men doing work. While the hotel is supposed to be in a remote setting, it is a bit inconvenient to get to with a lack of amenities/dining options and no guidance from the hotel. The gym facilities were appalling for a five star hotel.

Very spacious rooms, the bunker beds are awesome. My son loved it, the food in the cafe is very nice. The onsen bath was so relaxing. There are free popsicles and soda bottles and colors for kids which is very thoughtful. The bus station is right next to the hotel.

I stayed with my two kids 9 and 13 and they loved it. Amazing place with lovely people that staff it, we enjoyed being able to book the private onsen for half hour on the first night and although we couldn’t book it for the second (no times suitable as we had a early morning check out) we got to try their public onsen which was great too. The food is fabulous if you are up for trying different things but I would say it’s a lot of food so don’t eat too much for lunch! Both my kids have peanut...

We had a wonderful stay - the staff were friendly and helpful, the room was comfortable, breakfast was amazing and much accommodation was made for my vegan daughter. The private Onsen was perfect - not only well maintained and efficiently run with many toiletries, but also blissfully relaxing. The whole stay was superb and it was a privilege to experience such an amazing Japanese tradition. Thank you

Absolutely beautiful hotel giving a wonderful ryokan experience with hot springs. The natural scenery is beautiful making you forget you are conveniently less than 5 minutes away from the station. The hotel provides a fancy 10-course meal inspired by traditional Japanese cooking and a similar approach for breakfast. We had a room with a private onsen which was lovely and relaxing but also took a moment to enjoy the shared indoor and outdoor onsens, which are fairly small but also beautiful. The...
