"Our stay at Cross Hotel Kyoto was excellent from start to finish. The location is perfect for exploring the city, with everything easily accessible. What really stood out was the comfort and thoughtful design. The room felt modern, spacious, and incredibly well laid out. Small details made a big difference—from the separate toilet and bathroom to lighting in the toilet space that gradually brightens instead of turning on harshly. Everything felt intuitive and well considered. The bed and blankets were especially comfortable, and the bathroom had plenty of counter space—something that’s surprisingly rare. Overall, there was genuinely nothing I disliked. I would absolutely stay here again."

"Rooms were clean and well kept. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Breakfast vouchers are for the Sizzler's down stairs. Getting updated coin washers and dryers would be a great help to the guests. Took us and several others hours of waiting for a dryer then hours to actually dry. Sad the Godzilla patio wasn't open. Was told that someone tried to climb up the Godzilla head so they have closed it until further notice."

"Such a beautiful and peaceful place to stay on the outskirts of Kyoto ... a hidden and perfect respite to escape the busy city action but still close enough to pop in and check out all the amazing places in town. The facilities, the meals, and the service were awesome, and we'd like to especially mention the wonderful manager who always made us feel special, Koichi Koike! Thank you for a 5-star experience and we are already looking forward to returning to your hotel. Highly highly recommended!"

"The place needs updating The rooms were ok Tight with Towels ( the smallest I’ve even seen ) Tight with water I paid for a double room on my own to get 2 towels and 2 bottles of water was hard work It is situated outside the main area about a 40 min walk but is 8 min from tube Breakfast was one day Japanese next day western and so on Breakfast was a 2 out 10"

"Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The onsen was amazing! The dinner and breakfast they serve is very large and delicious. The area is perfect for someone wanting peace and quiet. I would love to go back and stay again!"

"Of the nine different hotels and ryokans we stayed at, this was our favorite place to stay. The location was gorgeous and the staff was the friendliest and most helpful we encountered. This location is up in the mountains so it doesn't have many tourists. We were able to to walk to three different nearby shrines/temples in about 2-3 hours and saw only 4 other people. This was the most relaxing part of our 2 week trip. The dinner and breakfast was exceptional but the staff and location is why we picked this hotel as our favorite place of our trip. I would absolutely stay here again. If you are looking for a place to relax in a mountain setting this is the place to stay!"
