"I visited with my wife and daughter for a chill out weekend after a busy first quarter. This hotel was ideal with stunning views of lake Windermere and the busy boating area of Bowness. We walked 20 mins into Bowness on an evening (torch required for return leg) and during the day. We relaxed around the hotels lake, and I must stay the weather played its part too. We ate in the hotel bar and the food was excellent, breakfast was one of the best we had too, plenty of choice, nothing was too much...

"Beautiful quiet property with lovely, friendly staff. The evening meal and breakfast were superb. The room was large, very comfortable and had a lovely patio overlooking the river. The hotel grounds were immaculate and had beautiful views of the hills. It was an easy walk into the town and there were lots of great walks from the door. "

The parking was mostly ok - there is more parking at the back of the property, however at one point the manager had blocked the entrance to the car park with their own vehicle which meant it was not accessible to guests.
