"A lovely apartment right in the centre of Bowness-On-Windermere. The accommodation was spotless, cleaning spray, washing up liquid and cloths were provided.
The bed was lovely and comfortable.
People have mentioned the stairs up to the apartment. They caused us no problem but if people have mobility problems I can understand they might be a problem.
If we return to the area we would stay here again. I am glad I didn’t book somewhere in Windermere, this was five minute walk to the lake. "
"The stay at the cottage was good. It is positioned on a busy road but it quiets down later at night. There is a shop at the petrol station that has everything you will need for the stay and close to bus tops to take to Ambleside and Windermere.
The beds are on the soft side but not uncomfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped but he had to buy paper kitchen towels, bin bags and dishwasher tablets.
All in all, our stay was great. We would stay here again. "
"Cleanliness was great!
Garden is big but not very well maintained.
It would had been good if there were some toiletries (no handwash, no shampoo or soap anywhere - had plenty of towels and napkins) which I feel is basic necessity and not everyone would carry it unless aware of not having it in the house and there is nowhere you can buy it from nearby.
Overall cleanliness was amazing, location and space is nice, and I would book it again for these reasons."

"An overall great stay. Great location, nice spaceous room, nice bathroom.
I would defo recommend and stay here again.
1 thing that what would help, would be a fridge in the room but apart from that a happy little 2 nights stay."
"This hotel is one of the best I’ve ever stayed in. Staff were attentive and friendly. Breakfast had excellent variety and really nice. Room was large with a a separate sitting area. My husband didn’t like that the tv was in the sitting area so he couldn’t lie in bed and watch tv but I was really happy about that! Hot tub on our balcony was a delight. Cocktail bar was fab and was the pub and the food on offer. Loved our stay here"
"We stayed at The Hideaway for 3 nights in August. Unfortunately the weather was very changeable so we couldn’t enjoy the outside surroundings very much as took advantage of the dry parts to explore. The room was quite small but still ok for us. The breakfast options are wonderful! Nothing was ever too much trouble if you wanted to exchange certain breakfast items and we were honestly so full we didn’t eat until the evenings. Everyone was very friendly and having a piece of cake every day was a lovely little treat. It was a nice walk into Windermere and also Bowness-On-Windermere if you can. The hop on/off bus can be caught at the station if you want to travel around which we did. The Lake District is just beautiful and we very much enjoyed our visit. The only thing we would say is that maybe the communal area could be a little brighter, with maybe less furniture to make it a more pleasant place to relax. "
"I stayed at this hotel for three nights at the end of August 2025. The hotel has a private car park with plenty of spaces. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The room and en-suite bathroom I was allocated were clean and both very well equipped. The bed was comfortable and I had a great nights sleep. The breakfast was excellent. I would recommend this hotel and would stay there again."
"Lovely stay . The location is beautiful overlooking the lake. The room was big and nice although quite dark as the window was quite small . Spa good but not much choice only 2 steam rooms and swimming pool. Nice seating on the balcony from spa. Breakfast was good although the portion was quite small . That is my husband opinion 😄. The only thing I didn't like was to pay £25 for parking. I think it is quite a lots a specially that the hotel is not cheap . So when you spend £200 for room you not expecting this ."
