Beautifully presented hotel in a peaceful and scenic location. The room was comfortable, nicely decorated and spotless. There is plenty of choice for breakfast and everything we had was delicious, although it is a little bit restricting only being able to have breakfast between 8.30 and 9.15. We didn't eat in the hotel in the evening but there are two pubs within easy walking distance to eat and drink at. Hard to access carpark on site. Very cramped entrance on a major slope and limited parking space. We were met on arrival after ringing doorbell by woman who wasn't very friendly. She asked us how we managed to get into reception as we apparently shouldn't have been able as door should have been locked or closed. We stayed for 3 nights and wished we could have stayed longer. For us the location was perfect, we enjoyed the walk to the lake and into town, which took about 25 minutes through the lovely gardens of the hotel. We were enchanted by the garden and were lucky enough to look out over them from our room. The staff were very attentive and the facilities were excellent. The only downside is that there is no lift so if you can't do stairs you would need to request a downstairs room.

We had a 2 night stay in late August. The hotel although busy maintained a quiet environment. The grounds and gardens are gorgeous and difficult to tear oneself away from. Rooms are of a good standard but on our next visit I would ask for one with a lake view. Breakfast is good but the 4 course evening meal was outstanding (and good value for the quality) All the staff we encountered went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. All in all a genuine 5 star experience.

We stayed in this lovely guest house for two nights as we were attending a family funeral. We arrived at about 3pm on the first day and were greeted by a lovely lady who explained where everything was and showed us to our room. Amazing experience. Fantastic staff and customer service, very friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. Cream tea was freshly prepared and scones still warm. Room was amazing with a beautiful lake view. Homemade shortbread in the room was a lovely touch. Breakfast was also amazing, lovely fry-up with good quality ingredients. Brilliant experience all round, we will definitely be staying again.
