"Brathay Lodge makes for a very comfortable and convenient stay in the Lake District. The room was modern and well-maintained and the staff friendly and considerate. There is a parking fee (unless booked direct) but you’d have to pay elsewhere anyway. If you have an electric car it’s a good idea to let them know in advance so you can use their reasonably-priced ProjectEV charger. The continental breakfast was fresh and varied and set us up for the day. Would definitely stay there again. "

Two pubs within walking distance, the best being the Travellers Rest, excellent food. "We went as a family of 4 and our stay was great. No problem at all except we got a bit cold at night, but that’s it! Everything else was great. We got free parking just up the road courtesy of the b&b management and breakfast was also included, which wasn’t mentioned on the initial booking. So bonuses all round really!"

"Lovely BnB. Darren couldn't have been more friendly or accommodating. The room was clean, bed was huge and very comfy. Shower was lovely and the breakfast was very very good. The village is so beautiful and only a short drive from Ambleside. We stayed 2 nights, but after arriving very late and leaving early we only had 1 day to see as much as possible and Darren gave us great recommendations. I loved my stay here."

"The location was very good & the hotel provided a parking permit for the pay & display car park across the street. Room was small which was fine but the en suite bathroom is not even a little bit sound proof so doesn't leave much to the imagination! The water pressure for the shower wasn't great & the water stopped intermittently whilst in the shower. Breakfast was nice but limited to full English, salmon & scrambled eggs or pancakes with maple syrup. "
