"This is a great location and the staff are brilliant. The hotel is basic but acceptable.
I’d strongly encourage you not to accept Room one in the annex.. tell them when you book that you don’t want it. The floorboards above are ridiculously noisy and the occupant of the room only has to move gently and it sounds like the ceiling is going to fall in on you. Unfortunately, for me, they were early rises and consequently it was a terrible night sleep for me."
"Property construction is not suitable for modern hotel. Also in shaky condition.. Management and staff try and are helpful but a lot of little things could be improved

"This was a wonderful romantic stay. The hotel is stunning and view was sensational.
The staff looked after us and the food . Vegan & gluten free options were great.
Will definitely recommend to all our family & friends. We will be returning."
"I was greeted by a very friendly and helpful host who showed me to my room and told me about the events of the coming weekend. The pub website says that it can be noisy because they have late night events but up on the second (or was it third floor) it was actually fairly quiet even with the Pride after party going on after midnight.
The pub has a small car park that was never full in the week I was there.
The location is perfect, right in the centre of Ulverston and within easy walking distance of bus stops for trips to Coniston and Windermere as well as the railway station for trips along the coast.
I think the only negative point is one that the Sun has in common with most other hotels, not enough teabags!"
