Hikers flock to this remote Lake District hamlet to climb England's highest peak, Scafell Pike. Reward yourself after a day on the trails with a pint at Wasdale Head Inn, the birthplace of British rock climbing.

On the way back down after we had climbed Scafell Pike we took this beautiful route to Wasdale Head and Wastwater.  Nothing makes you feel quite so insignificant as being in this vast landscape.  Can't emphasise enough, even though pathways are well marked please don't forget that it's still climbing a mountain!  Go prepared with plenty of layers and the right kit, and don't be the reason that mountain rescue have to risk their own lives to save yours. #LakeDistrict #England #TakeAHike #NationalPark
