"Nice hotel and staff rooms need updating "

"Room was clean, although window was foggy so couldn’t see much of a view. Staff were nice and accommodating. One lift was out of action for the renovation and this meant that there were longer waits for the lifts, but this is not to be helped. The building work wasn’t supposed to start while 9am but did start earlier on one of the days we stayed, wasn’t a bother for us as we had to be up but would’ve been annoying if not."

"Small but efficiently laid out. Pretty location and walkable to lots of pubs, restaurants and the underground. Clean and well appointed."

"Premium priced but still so cheap they won’t clean your room. This restaurant is also way over-priced. In general it’s a curious urban dull-lit reception and bar area which will appeal to some. The surrounding area is not nice at all, don’t be misled by it being close to Notting Hill. I liked the pool although the gender neutral changing facilities is one trendy step too far for me. "

"We stayed at the hotel for three nights, but during this time our room was not cleaned even once. At check-in, we were informed that housekeeping would be done every other day, however this did not happen at all. Therefore, I would rate housekeeping only 2 out of 10. I contacted the reception to request an extra towel and to report that our room had not been cleaned. The receptionist was surprised, as their system showed that the room had already been serviced. He responded immediately, brought us clean towels, and took out the trash — for which I am grateful. However, it was very unpleasant to return to a room that had not been cleaned for two days, especially as there was a persistent unpleasant smell. It seemed as though housekeeping simply chose not to bother, possibly because we were checking out the next day."

"We stayed for two nights. Good location, and staff aimed to please. The decor is old English, but not dusty as was reported in previous reviews. Breakfast was average, but did not have enough staff to keep up with the breakfast demands. The only complaint worth mentioning was the mattress on or bed, worn out and not comfortable.You could hear the springs squeak. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay here, but would not rate this a 4 star hotel."
