The hostel has a great location, is budget-friendly, and feels safe and secure. It was a comfortable stay overall. However, I was a bit disappointed that the staff kept speaking to me in Chinese, even though I communicated in English the entire time. While I understand a little Chinese, communication would have been better in English.

Looks like a new hotel and is very modern and elegant. The location is great and would highly recommend this hotel if looking to explore the Dotonburi. The hotel is comfortable and clean and the staff are excellent and attentive.

This is the second time I have stayed at the Hankyu RESPIRE, the first being only for a few nights on a multi-city "Golden Route" trip to Japan last year and the experience I had, combined with it's fantastic location meant it was the obvious choice for my week-long stay in Osaka this year.
The rooms are well equipped and roomy, especially for Japan, toiletries, room slippers and pyjamas are provided, meaning you can leave those things at home and have more space in your luggage for your Japan...

I loved this guesthouse. The staff were unbelievably helpful, and the facilities were excellently maintained and cleaned. As a solo traveller staying in the dorm room, I felt they had the mix between being welcoming and friendly while having a degree of privacy and space just right. The 'capsules' were a decent size, and well planned with space to store things in them; they were clean and comfortable too.

The room was an odd shape but didn't impact our stay. Air conditioning in the room was great, and we had our own bathroom. The bed was very comfy and staff provided extra pillows when asked. The location of the hotel is really good for two metro lines, there is also a 24h family mart not far up the road, a lovely cafe around the corner and plenty of local places to eat. Staff were very friendly and accomodating to requests and issues. The onsite laundry was great, only a few 100 yen to wash and...

Friendly staff (they also speak English fluently)
Good location, 10 minutes Walk from Tennoji station, a couple of Kombinis around as well.
Large, pretty tatami room. Super clean and lovely.
large shared space with tables and couches, and shared kitchen downstairs. Would definitely recommend.
The only fault I could find are the check-in /check out times (4pm/10am) although those are pretty common for Japan. And we had to pay (200¥ Pp) to store our luggage before checking in as we arrived early....

Nishi has a variety of cheap accommodation options and things to do, making it a great holiday choice for budget-conscious travellers. In addition to its well-known attractions such as Kyocera Dome Osaka, this destination is home to Utsubo Park, which you can enjoy while spending very little.
What's the best accommodation for a budget-friendly stay in Nishi?
Nishi is known for its shopping and relaxing spas, and offers plenty to see and do without spending a fortune. You can budget for the top local attractions that interest you most, such as Dotonbori and Universal Studios Japan, and then look for sights and activities that cost little or nothing at all. Explore and snap photos of landmarks like Hozen-ji Temple, or enjoy the outdoors at Utsubo Park and Tombori River Walk.
How can I get to Nishi and get around on a budget?
Scoping out the transportation options in Nishi is a smart way to keep your trip affordable. The nearest airport is 8.2 mi (13.2 km) from the centre in Osaka (ITM-Itami). However, if that doesn't suit your budget, you can look into flights to Kobe (UKB), which is 14.6 mi (23.5 km) away. You can access metro transport at Nishi-Nagahori Station, Awaza Station and Nishiohashi Station.
