First time staying and it was amazing. The check in area is across the road on Montcalm hotel and that was the only confusing thing. My room was amazing, staff where amazing, and next time in the London I’ll I know where I’m staying.

As we were checking in late in the evening, we couldn't find the hotel! It was not obvious where the entrance was! Once we have finally found it, the reception was closed, so we couldn't get in! So just by chance I went to another hotel which was opposite to ask what to do - The Montcalm Club - and they told me that check in was with them. This should have been communicated either at the time of reservation or in description of the hotel! Not happy! The actual room is tiny! I know it is in central London but for the he price I would expect more. Bed was extremely soft and uncomfortable. Breakfast (which you pay on the top in that hotel opposite) was nice apart from orange and apple juice - they were from the box and very low quality. Disappointing. Food on the other hand was very good.

Great position for City meetings
The greeting at the hotel reception was good. The room itself was a bit tired. The black interiors was fashionable once but not now. For my meetings in the City the next day the position was perfect. The breakfast was good but not great. The price was very good for a quality hotel in the City. I have booked to stay again next week.

Convenient location for business stays
The building is quite old, and the common areas may give the impression that it need some renewal work, but the rooms are clean and tidy, and provide all you need for a comfortable stay. I would repeat.

Lackluster service, comfortable room
I was given a room in the main building at the Montcalm, not at Barbican Rooms. The room was fine, comfortable bed, nice bathroom, but the hotel staff was less than helpful at every opportunity. There was no in-room dining available for reasons that were never explained, and I pretty much expected no assistance from staff and got none.
