"It is really very close to the beach, you can even walk it.i also love the place itself. very quiet. The only thing really is the air con is very loud that you can’t sleep! That is the tie breaker. Either you sleep in comfort with the loud sound of the air conditioner blasting loud into your ear or hot but quiet during the night. I always end up turning off the air and just taking off my clothes under the covers Lol. Also the small window by the back porch doesn’t have a curtain so the neighbor...

We had a great time, the sea water pool was really interesting with the sea breaking over the far wall at certain states of the tide. The other hotel swimming pool was also great together with it's 'hot tub', plenty of room and chairs etc to sit and laze around on. The apartment was exceptional, beautifully maintained and equipped, we could not have asked for anything more.

I am a global traveler and I must say that the Big Island Retreat is one of the best places I ever visited! Why?
1. The personal touch - chatting to the hostess Gigi is like talking to an old friend - she will wait for you even if you have late arrival and she will give you advice for cool places and tours to visit with a complimentary drink.
2. The design and the character - most hotel chains (even the five star ones) lack the personal touch in the design. Our room looked like a Hawaiian...
