The Maritime is the perfect hotel for seeing the city, its clean, friendly staff and a decent continental breakfast, It is ideally situated for restaurants, coffee shops etc. The High Line and Little Island are close by. My daughter and I had a trip to New York for our big birthdays, hotel was very central close to port authority, walking distance to time square and many other areas. Hotel staff made our visit special for us and are very helpful , friendly , professional and knowledgeable about the surrounding area. I would avoid 9th Avenue at night time as it didn’t feel very safe .

Ideal location for exploring the city. Hotel had everything we needed. Trip was with adult daughter & the three of us had enough space in the room. I researched a lot of hotels & for the location this made economic sense & had all the facilities we wanted. Didn’t eat or drink there but no need as so many options close by. Close to subway to get around the city & Times Square was 15 min walk away. Could do with some modernising but that’s being picky. Would recommend

Great location and very quiet on the 14th floor. My only complaint is no mirror in the room. Only mirror was in the bathroom. I had to blow dry my hair whilst looking into a small vanity mirror propped up. I need a mirror to fix my hair in the morning, so do most ladies I imagine.

Well located. Easy to walk to loads of the sights + theres a subway station at the end of the road. Penn station is also about a 10 minutes walk away if you’re coming in on the LIRR from JFK. Great views over the NY cityscape (I was on the 37th floor). Comfy beds. Room had a microwave and mini fridge.
Only criticism was my room was quite compact so there was limited space to hang clothes or store my suitcase.
Breakfast had lots of choices (inc gluten free bread, bagels and labelled hot...
