Awaiting the resolution of refund request
Contrary to the confirmation of booking by Hotels.com and much to my shock, when I tried to check in at the property, the hotel manager and his entire staff straight away declined by (2 months) prepaid reservation because we had done the reservation from expedia. He said its Expedia's trick not to make payment to the hotels and in the past also they have had denied check in to many. They also asked how can hotels.com make the payment if the hotel property have not shared the bank details with you. They also showed us a printout about our booking with an amount of Rs. 1900 something which makes me believe that I have clearly been overcharged. The hotel guy seems to have made a clear profit of 600 (tried to make a clean profit of 1000 Rs.) From me. And you guys a 300 Rs. Profit by making me a target!! Finally after back to back calls with Ms. Barkha from your helpdesk and long minutes of hold, the solution I got was to to pay cash of Rs. 2800 for the same room which was already prepaid by me which would let us check in. Travelling for 30 hours going through all this becomes too much for a female traveller with senior citizens. Moreover, we had to wait for 45 minutes till 5.30pm to check-in, only to be strictly asked to check out at 2 pm the other day.
