We stayed one night at the Victorian house as we had planned a last minute visit to the lakes due to particularly good weather forecast for this time of year. The staff were very welcoming; the room was as described ‘cosy’ and furnished beautifully. The breakfast was of a high standard with plenty of choice. We would definitely look to stay again, especially as it was such good value for money and right in the centre of the village.

Beautifully presented hotel in a peaceful and scenic location. The room was comfortable, nicely decorated and spotless. There is plenty of choice for breakfast and everything we had was delicious, although it is a little bit restricting only being able to have breakfast between 8.30 and 9.15. We didn't eat in the hotel in the evening but there are two pubs within easy walking distance to eat and drink at. It's a great location for exploring Windermere and Coniston and there are some lovely walks...

Had a fantastic stay at the Marymount hotel. My room 36 was a upgraded room new bathroom, massive king size bed. Very quiet and a fantastic view of the hills. Breakfast was really good loads of choices. And the food at night was good too. The staff a really nice. Shout out to Maria,Andy and Allana for making us feel so welcome.

Loved our break, staff were very friendly & were happy to help. Our room was spotlessly clean with excellent views & a very comfy bed. Will definitely be booking here again

A lovely guest house. Staff friendly, polite and always helpful. Our room in The Hideaway was clean and modern. The bed was a bit harder than we’d like. We would love to go back and have no hesitation in recommending this guest house.

Stayed as a stop gap between Scafell Pike and The West Highlands. Good location, just out of a town, but quiet. Lovely rooms, great breakfast, very friendly, efficient staff. The only possible criticisms I could think of are that the rooms could have been more thoroughly cleaned, but we're of a good standard, and it would have been lovely to have an alternative to tea and coffee provided in the rooms (like a mint tea or similar), but these really are pinickity things. This was our second stay at the Daffodil Hotel in Grasmere having previously stayed in February. The hotel is very clean and tidy with a very friendly and helpful reception staff. The onsite parking is great. Our room was a decent size and was very clean with good standard facilities (TV, air-conditioning, complimentary water, hairdryer etc) The spa facilities are acceptable and the only downside to the hotel is it's lack of swimming pool.
