good hotel to stay with family, but the room was very dampened and as per description given in website, small corridor was to be available with the room but no such space was available and also no space was available to dry the wet clothes or even hang other clothes.
"Close to Beach, Good Bengali Food but OLD building"
We were 2 couples who booked 2 AC Deluxe rooms (with a "Bath Tub" as shown in pictures in Expedia). But when we reached, the other couple got the AC Deluxe room (first floor) and we were given a non-a/c standard room (ground floor) which was half the price. Got furious and asked, they said the room given is the room we booked. When complained to Hotel Manager who was in Baga, said we are currently full and we'll be give an room in first floor when the guest vacates next day. As promised, i was given a Deluxe room next day evening (with NO Bath Tub), but at least clean.
So, everything which is shown in the pictures are not for real.
From then on we had a smooth stay. They have arranged the cabs for tours.
Nearest Landmark Terra Paraiso Beach resort.
Really close to beach - 2 mins walk (literally)
Awesome Bengali Food. Order only if you have got some time, as they prepare on order.
Old Rustic Building - no proper paints
Not all rooms look like the pictures posted
Very interior from the road
Road condition is far from worse
Not ideal if you are taking a car for rent as some points on the road are too narrow for a single car
Bachelor Boys can enjoy a lot - Not a good one for couples
"Friendly staff, excellent location and well appointed services"
Neelam's is a well established hotel in the heart of Calangute and is definitely worth the three-four star rating. I arrived at 8am after 24 hours of flights and they fixed up a room for me straight away (before normal check-in), as I was in dire need of rest. The photos on Expedia are accurate as to the style and condition of the rooms.
The pool and indoor areas of the hotel are in good condition, however, are probably not used as much as they could. There is a small disco on some nights and entertainment/music in the evening. There is a small bar on the first floor that serves basic food, water and beverages till the morning, which was great after coming home from a bar or club to pick up a bottle or two of water.
After some sleep, I tried out the ayurvedic massage to re-enliven my soul and relax into Goa. The massage was a good one with a focus on oil based healing, conducted by a trained specialist from Kerela. The food in the restaurant is varied and there are staples for continental preferences on the a-la-carte menu. Along with a choice of Indian breakfast options included in the package, you also get eggs, juice and tea. I didn't try out dinner but from a small sample of the food at Neelam's menu, it was well prepared. However, as it is a hotel, the rates can be more than found in local restaurants.
The staff are friendly and helpful. The gym is well appointed, however, take your own sweat towel. The location is close to shops, beach and markets.
The experience was excellent from check-in to check-out. The front office staff was very helpful and pleasant to deal with.
A great quiet location ideal for lazing around or for an evening walk about. Ideal family resort, with all amenities taken care of.
Its 1 min walk to beach, very easy, but cottages made with wood, not that much stable, but you can stay .
Families also can go, Ac working fine, 24 hours hot water here. But don't expect too luxury kind of interior , the only bad thing interior , but OK.
