Start of the day with this hotel was terrible. We ordered lunch as we came into this hotel just couple of hours back and we were hungry. Literally they took more than an hour to serve the food. Food was average, that was the last lunch we had in this hotel. None of the staff here is courteous nor friendly. They were more interested in business than customer satisfaction. We are having lunch and sweeper switched off fans and started sweeping before we could wind up our lunch and we literally had a fight with sweeper to stop him but none from management intervened in this situation to help us, they were watching the scene as it was a movie. Finally, we escalated it but they simply said apologies and washed it off. Room cleaning doesn't happen on time unless you ask them. They served tea, coffee etc in the room and all the cups and kettles were lying outside our door for 2 days and no one worried about cleaning it up even after housekeeping staff were around in that area. Better avoid this hotel.
This was our first hotel in Goa, staying for 3 nights and we thought it was lovely.
There was a small army of staff so the service was excellent and the guys were all really friendly.
The breakfast had a nice mix of Indian and Western choices and the evening meal we had there was up there with some of the best we had in Goa. Now we have other places to compare it to, the prices are quite high for Goa, but the quality is superior so I thought it very good value.
It's also about 15 minutes walk from the beach, so convenient enough but far enough so that the hotel area is quiet and there are loads of nice places to eat in between.
Its a good family hotel. Hotel staff is friendly and helping. Rooms are small but clean. Bathrooms are very clean. We stayed in AC Apartment in which breakfast buffet was included. Our experience was very comfortable and pleasant. Its very near to Calangute beach so we could just walk to the beach and didn't need to hire bikes.
Hotel staff during the breakfast time was very rude.. The breakfast was not served on time.. The breakfast was delayed by at-least 30 mins from the scheduled breakfast time. I hope this does not repeat again. I would otherwise rate the Hotel excellent... with clean and nice facility ....
Would love to visit and also recommend my friends for the same..
A wonderful place manned by an even more wonderful staff. It is reasonably well located just about 600m from the Calangute beach (by foot), though if someone wishes to drive then the route is longer and congested due to traffic. The place is well maintained both the interiors as well as the surroundings. The restaurant is very nice and reasonable, though the food was a bit spicy even for the grown ups and more so for the children. The rooms are very comfortable. The swimming pool of the hotel is though very small and the parking space for the vehicles is very constrained. For interested people there is a market adjacent to the hotel. The USP of the hotel however remains its staff. A memorable experience overall.
"Friendly staff, excellent location and well appointed services"
Neelam's is a well established hotel in the heart of Calangute and is definitely worth the three-four star rating. I arrived at 8am after 24 hours of flights and they fixed up a room for me straight away (before normal check-in), as I was in dire need of rest. The photos on Expedia are accurate as to the style and condition of the rooms.
The pool and indoor areas of the hotel are in good condition, however, are probably not used as much as they could. There is a small disco on some nights and entertainment/music in the evening. There is a small bar on the first floor that serves basic food, water and beverages till the morning, which was great after coming home from a bar or club to pick up a bottle or two of water.
After some sleep, I tried out the ayurvedic massage to re-enliven my soul and relax into Goa. The massage was a good one with a focus on oil based healing, conducted by a trained specialist from Kerela. The food in the restaurant is varied and there are staples for continental preferences on the a-la-carte menu. Along with a choice of Indian breakfast options included in the package, you also get eggs, juice and tea. I didn't try out dinner but from a small sample of the food at Neelam's menu, it was well prepared. However, as it is a hotel, the rates can be more than found in local restaurants.
The staff are friendly and helpful. The gym is well appointed, however, take your own sweat towel. The location is close to shops, beach and markets.
