"Clean, updated and centrally located."
This hotel is newly remodeled. I'd read previous reviews, and expected a dumpy hotel in a bad neighborhood. We arrived on a Friday morning, and settled into a beautifully decorated room with a partial view of the bay. The decorations were recently redone, and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel was located within a fifteen minute walk of shops on Robson Street, Yaletown, False Creek, the ferry to the Granville Island Public Market, and nightlife on Davie street. Thirty minutes of walking had us in Gastown. Staff were eager to provide suggestions about how to get Canadian money from an ATM, getting around Downtown Vancouver and to the Anthropology Museum at UBC. They asked if we needed taxis before we asked them. I would definitely stay here again.

"Gorgeous Hotel Close to Downtown"
Excellent hotel. Standard room was well appointed (iron, hair dryer, mini fridge, coffee maker, lots of towels, toiletries, two comfortable sitting chairs with table, and a huge widescreen telly) Everything was clean. Room had a balcony overlooking the city. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Parking garage is connected to the hotel and has in/out privileges (i.e. it doesn't cost you to go in and out). This was very helpful, considering there aren't a lot of places to park around downtown, and what there is costs a fortune. Very reasonable cost. Has a restaurant up on the top floor. Even though I had a room close to the elevator, it was very quiet. Room keys are wireless, which was very convenient. Elevator is fast (and there were 4), with a very smooth ride. Couldn't tell if you were going up or down, and no weird stomach sensations. I know that's a weird thing to comment on, but I hate elevators and these ones were great!

"Great hotel with excellent service."
I stayed for the weekend and this was my second time at this hotel. The room was decently comfortable and the view was very nice (19th floor). I have a back problem and for me the bed was way too hard, but they were very accommodating and helpful. Two of the staff spent a lot of time and came back several times with a selection of mattress toppers in effort to make it more comfortable for me, and they were very friendly. The pads they put on the bed helped a little bit and I really prefer better, but it worked. The staff that helped me commented that some rooms have hard beds and some have soft beds, so next time I'll be sure to ask for a room with a soft bed. The next thing that was unfortunate was the very noisy refrigerator. It actually startled me almost every time it came on, and I'm not a person that's easily startled. Somehow I still slept though, but I was wishing I'd brought ear plugs. They should really fix this. I didn't have this issue the first time I stayed there though, so maybe it was just in this room. Aside from the noisy appliance, I think this is a great place and I will keep going back.

"European Style Hotel"
I selected the St. Regis Hotel because it was in the downtown vicinity and near alot of the tourist attractions we wanted to see. I read the reviews and based it on the fact that the daily parking rate was costly, as well as the free breakfast we could have every morning. OMG, we were expecting a continental breakfast (donuts/coffee) but you can order a full on breakfast (3 different ones to choose from) and we are talking bacon, eggs, toast, coffee, juice, potatoes...at least that's what we had and they give a lot! Whenever we came in/out of the hotel, we were always greeted by the staff. One exceptional staff member, Gary, of the front desk, always said our names! They also gave us umbrellas to use since it was raining alot during our stay. If we had any questions about anything, they were able to answer our questions.
