When arriving at this hotel we pulled into the parking with the sign for Sandman. We parked our car on the first level and went to pay at the parking meter. On the parking meter it read “ Please see front desk to pay for hotel parking”. We went to the front desk, filled out a parking form, let the lady know where we had parked and paid for our stay and parking ($25/night to park). After our two night stay we went to load our belongings into my car and saw our back window had been smashed. We opened my car door to see cardboard wedged in to create a pillow on my back seat, a face mask and an awful smell. Someone had been sleeping in our car.....! Then we find 2 parking tickets on our windshield with a combined fine of $200!!!
Reporting this at the front desk, the staff said “Oh...did you guys park behind the gate?”.... WHAT GATE?! Nobody had mentioned we had to park behind a gate... if they had we would have been given a key or access code to get behind this gate!
Apparently the hotel have security who do their rounds each night, who clearly failed to report this to the hotel. Not to mention the parking ticket guy who must have seen smashed glass everywhere and still just popped a ticket on our window without reporting anything!!!
The hotel did not refund us our parking ($50) for the two nights we paid, even though it clearly wasn’t safe. What did we pay for?!?.
Very, very poor. We will not be staying here again
