"Great location and great value"

"Don’t bother booking here. I arrived to find I couldn’t get into the property. Phoned them and was told I had to walk elsewhere to check in, then walk back to the property, which made me late for an appointment. 4hrs later after checking in they sent me the check in details. Terrible. On returning to the property at midnight I found the main communal door insecure and I couldn’t close it. Phoned them to repair. No toilet/shower in the room. Communal only. Terrible experience"

"131 The Promenade is in an ideal location to explore Cheltenham and the surrounding areas. Easy to get to and set on a lovely wide avenue. The Terrace restaurant has a good choice of meals, suiting everyones taste. Thre is also the splendid Kojo's restaurant which has an atmosphere reminiscent of the orient. The Gin&Juice bar is exactly that. Lively atmoshere and and endless variety of gins and cocktails"

"Very nice property and visually appealing, but not comfortable at all. There was no AC or refrigerator in the room, and no AC in the building. Only refrigerator was in their kitchen and we couldn’t access it ourselves and not after hours at all. Not even a coffee maker. We didn’t think to have to check for these essentials in a place advertising itself as a luxury hotel. There was a heatwave when we arrived and all the windows were closed in the room and it was boiling hot upon arrival. We had to ask for a fan and for help opening the windows that were stuck closed, even though one would think it would be a no brainer during a heatwave. Room was also TINY compared to the photos that were misleading. Could not even open a suitcase without tripping over it. We were given a bigger room and it was still tiny. Also definitely not a queen size bed. Just a regular size. Staff was nice and helpful as they could be under the circumstances. Nothing easily within walking distance. If you want a “cute” visually appealing hotel, this may be for you. But if you want to be comfortable and value convenience, steer clear. We had to check out early after one night because it was just not a place we could spend five nights. We felt very misled and were not even offered to be refunded, but I guess we will have to eat the loss of the money."

"Roy and another young lady were there to check us into the two-level luxury room and very kind and helpful. It was spacious, clean, and comfortable. AC kept us cool in a heatwave. Excellent espresso maker and tea kettle. Refrigerator with real milk inside was a nice touch. Centrally located. Everything you could need easily walkable. A very beautiful medieval church and graveyard within a minute’s walk. It’s on a side street so it was quiet, even on the weekend. If we find ourselves in Cheltenham again, we will stay here again. Highly recommended."

"The hotel was very clean the free breakfast was nice perfectly located for the town however the receptionist staff was useless and a tad rude, first night we stayed we wanted an extra duvet so we asked they came to the room and gave us pillows… they took 3 attempts and we waited 45 minutes for a blanket. If you wanted a drink from the bar you would have to either beg someone to get on the bar or wait a long time to be served as they did not like having someone on the bar, if you could not manage the bar just get rid of the bar, right? The last day I asked to extend my stay and the young receptionist staff bluntly said fully booked then proceeded to ignore me, literally talking to a brick wall ignored. I feel the cleaning staff work hard however the lobby staff were horrific. I probably would stay again as it’s a convenient hotel however I’d keep my distance from the lobby staff the next time."
