Average and very overpriced. £35 for overnight parking that then turned out to be unavailable

We were upgraded to an open-plan room which was very odd in design. It felt like the walls of the bathroom had not been built. The room was jaded but adequate for a night’s stay. The shower (in the room) was awful and kept cutting out. It ran out of hot water. The staff were very friendly and the public seating / bar areas looked good but we didn’t use them. Overall, perfectly adequate for a night’s stay and very central. A little underwhelming.

The highlight was the entrance and the lobby, beyond that the property was a little run down and could do with a revamp. Our room was a good size but dark and appeared a little dated. There was a single false eyelash under one the pillows which made us question the overall cleanliness. The sheets were either bobbly or there was sand in the bed, either way it was rather uncomfortable to sleep on. The bathroom was small and dark with a walk in shower. The silicone seal in the shower was leaking causing the bathroom floor to flood when showering. On a positive note, the shower pressure was great and the shower gel had a pleasant scent. There was a lot of dust on the headboard, suspicious stains on the carpets and also on the wallpaper above the bed. The furniture was also very worn. The location was great with plenty of shops and dining options nearby. Parking at £10 per night reasonable, but parking spaces are limited and quite tight.
Beautiful hotel. Great service. Relaxed atmosphere but stylish and luxurious at the same time. Very dog friendly too. Junior suite with bath in the room was wonderful!
Couldn’t get a hot cup of tea for breakfast, water was in a pump jug and definitely not boiling. Drain in the sink made horrendous noises when our neighbouring rooms showered and poor lighting in bedrooms.
Lovely hotel in great location. Staff were great. Air con wasn’t working properly but still thought 5 star review and these little things happen and I’m sure would be fixed 👍
