"My daughter and I stayed here on a quick trip to Miami for 4 nights. We loved everything about it. The friendly staff, the cute, retro beachy vibe, and the location! The beach is right across from the hotel and the hotel provides you with towels for the day at the beach. The rooftop pool is also awesome. There are so many great restaurants and cute cafes within a few blocks, we had a hard time choosing. We hopped on the free trolley just a block away from the hotel and turned around. We would 100% stay at The Penguin again! "

"At this time of year it’s forgotten that it’s meant to be a hotel and has overwhelmingly prioritised being a bad night club. Dreadful pounding techno such that the windows in our room vibrated till 11pm. To add insult to injury we’d paid extra for an ocean view room. Staff were indifferent. No late check out as a blanket policy. I think we were an inconvenience "

"We had an ocean view. Our room was very clean. The staff was GREAT! The food was amazing. I missed not having the amazing chili they no longer had for the nachos. The pico was excellent! I’m so glad it is still a family friendly environment. I love that they still have games for the kids at the pool several times a day! Also love that they offer fruit such as grapes and strawberries for the afternoon, as it gets hot. Also the free juice water all day! Loews in South Beach is a GREAT place to stay!!"

"The card key lock wasn’t working and I had to go back downstairs to reception 6 times during my first day. Finally on my second day I met a maintenance person and explained my issue and they were able to take lock apart, adjust it and resolve problem. It was frustrating "

"The property was very beautiful. Location was amazing. The restaurants and bars around were fun and good food but the valet parking is ridiculous its very expensive and you have to walk around the corner to get your car and bring your luggage and carry it very inconvenient for such a nice hotel."

"Property was pretty nice. Only issue was the cleanliness of the room. There was hair in the shower and sink. And toilet was dirty. Floors looked like they hadn’t been mopped and Carpet was not vacuumed. The shower knob was loose and came off the last day of our stay. "

"Hotels.com and this hotel refused to respond to inquiries. Their customer service process is so fractured, we were unable to address our concerns about a reservation for weeks. End result, they charged for a stay I wasn’t even able to check in. I reached out multiple occasions to cancel or address the issue. Beyond offended by both organizations. Please do better and best of luck in all your future endeavors… leave me out."
