The Maritime is the perfect hotel for seeing the city, its clean, friendly staff and a decent continental breakfast, It is ideally situated for restaurants, coffee shops etc. The High Line and Little Island are close by. Unfortunately it doesnt have its own bar on site which was the only thing i would criticize. After being out all day it would have been nice to chill in a bar onsite rather than have to venture out again. We took advantage of the airport transfer service offered in the expedia...

Lovely small boutique hotel in a great location downtown away from the main hustle and bustle. Staff were friendly and helpful, rooms were clean and quiet with a great shower and complimentary toiletries. Tea and coffee facilities in the lounge 24/7 plus a complimentary breakfast of pastries and orange juice which was a welcome surprise. It is a little dated and could perhaps do with some modern decoration but this didn't really distract from a great stay.

Wonderful hotel in a great location. Room was spacious and clean and the staff were lovely. It would benefit from a hotel bar but we very much appreciated the bottle of wine!

Really nice hotel with a pleasant roof terrace and great staff; the free coffee all day was a nice touch as were the free croissants first thing. Lots of interesting food options nearby - iconic dining at: The Roxy; Bubby’s and Katz Diner were all only a short walk away. There are good transport connections via the nearby subway station and it sits in a very friendly and safe neighbourhood on the border between Chinatown and Little Italy.

Wonderful stay here for 4 nights with husband and daughter. We had a ‘two doubles’ room, which had lovely comfortable beds and little kitchenette with full size fridge. We enjoyed a lovely complimentary breakfast each morning with fruit, pastries, bagels, yogurt and granola. On an evening we went up to the rooftop terrace with a bottle of wine and enjoyed the amazing views and sounds of the city - and the location is excellent, couple blocks from Time square but didn’t feel noisy or busy. The hotel itself is clean and centrally located for NYC tourism in Times Sq. the staff are great, breakfast included was a good start to each day and the price we got through Expedia was a bargain. Be warned that there is a migrant shelter directly opposite the hotel which can be intimidating as large groups hang around outside - the hotel have a regular security guard and the NYPD are outside the shelter all the time.

Fantastic location as the hotel is close to subway station so can easily get anywhere, but it’s in a more peaceful part of town. There are loads of excellent restaurants and coffee shops around.
Our room (two double beds) was spacious, clean and comfortable.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
I would recommend and would definitely stay again.

Great location and very quiet on the 14th floor. My only complaint is no mirror in the room. Only mirror was in the bathroom. I had to blow dry my hair whilst looking into a small vanity mirror propped up. I need a mirror to fix my hair in the morning, so do most ladies I imagine.

Rooms spotless. Lots of breakfast places near. Carnegie cafe diner near for breakfast. Central Park walkable distance. Moma near by. Broadway walking distance.

Such a great stay here. Right in midtown Manhattan in the heart of the action but at a really reasonable price. The room was small but immaculate. I requested a higher room with a view and the hotel did exactly that for us - the 21st floor with a beautiful view to wake up to. I would definitely recommend staying at CIVILIAN and I would definitely stay here again.

We arrived a little after 3pm, and had a lovely greeting from staff, but our room wasn’t ready so we had to wait.
We booked and paid through Expedia… an Empire via room with living space. Please note that the hotel does not offer this type of room. None of their Empire View rooms have the separate living room area. The Empire view rooms do give a great view of the Empire State Building but their ‘living room’ is a tiny space with a chaise and a TV. Management were excellent with us and moved us...

Cool hotel near Grand Central Station. Nice area - not too busy, near restaurants, transport and shops. Hotel is boutique style - not big rooms but that’s NYC. Staff are lovely - Judy and the team. Water was replenished daily although note no coffee maker in room. Close to all night deli and loads of places for breakfast. It was a really good choice and would choose it again.
