"I have stayed here at least 6 times, every time I’ve come to Playa and it’s always been the best. Not because it’s the newest or fanciest but because it’s location is perfect, just 1/4 mile walk to downtown Playa, right on the beach, never overcrowded, the staff is so friendly, helpful, and always in a good mood and remember my name, give it a try you will love it! "

"The staff was great and the food was good. The restaurants don’t open in the evening as early as we would have liked. The hotel has no elevators so carrying your luggage up the stairs is not fun. There’s 3 floors so hopefully you’re not on the 3rd floor. Several activities throughout the day. The hotel was clean and very helpful if you needed anything. "

"We stayed for a few days in February and could not have been happier with the entire experience, from check-in to our unfortunate back-to-reality departure! We loved the pool area and especially loved the location of the hotel in downtown Playa. We did hear music on the weekend evenings but with earplugs or our little handheld sound machine, we were absolutely fine. We will stay here again!"

"Food is the best. Specually on Thursday night. Pools are rather small but work well. Property is a little outdated but very clean. The coffee shop serves great coffee included. Your staff are friendly. "

"Traveled here in April 2026 and it was sooooo nice. The upkeep on the property is amazing, my husband and I had a great time, good music, staff was beyond amazing, everything was close by, beaches were kept clean and the pool, the food was amazing, I will definitely go back here again!"

"This is my third time at the Royal Hideaway and I do love this resort, as the food at all the restaurants is delicious and the staff are wonderful but we did encounter a few problems. We did not have hot water in our room unless we ran the shower for sometimes as long as 30 minutes. The staff came to fix it but the only solution was to turn on the hot water and let it run until it got hot. I was not the only guest who had this problem. In order to get a lounge chair at the pool you had to get up very early otherwise they were all reserved or claimed by someone as early as 6:30 am. Other than these two issues I had a wonderful time. What makes this place special is the wonderful and friendly staff."
