Still one of Orlando’s major attractions, Magic Kingdom® Park was the first of many Florida theme parks. Based on the vision of Walt Disney, the park first opened its doors the world in 1971. Boasting an impressive number of themed attractions, visitors can zoom through to the future in the Tomorrowland® area, crawl through the jungles of Adventureland® or step back in time to the American Revolution in the Liberty Square area. This truly magical kingdom has an exhaustive amount of energy and life, night and day. Watch the lavish parades that frequently pass beneath Cinderella Castle, or marvel the fantastic firework displays at night. Complete your trip by taking a cruise with pirates on the Lagoon, or witness the action packed Big Thunder Mountain Railroad®.
To get to the park, visitors are treated to a spectacular ride on a high speed monorail that zooms through to the main entrance. The monorail is a great way to navigate this immense attraction, transporting visitors from resort accommodation to the numerous theme parks dotted around the site. Buses are also available and the Staten Island-inspired ferry carries visitors across the Seven Seas Lagoon.
Magic Kingdom® Park is at its busiest during the sweltering summer months. Opening hours are extended during this time and more events and special parades are held. Visitors need not worry about the Florida heat as there are plenty of shady areas and water rides in which to cool off.
