Very nice place. Well maintained with a lovely hot tub. Good bar on site. We had some issues checking in and can only assume that was down to Expedia (we did not get key code which caused some issues). Would return.

We had a 2 night stay in late August. The hotel although busy maintained a quiet environment. The grounds and gardens are gorgeous and difficult to tear oneself away from. Rooms are of a good standard but on our next visit I would ask for one with a lake view. Breakfast is good but the 4 course evening meal was outstanding (and good value for the quality) All the staff we encountered went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. All in all a genuine 5 star experience.

We stayed one night at the Victorian house as we had planned a last minute visit to the lakes due to particularly good weather forecast for this time of year. The staff were very welcoming; the room was as described ‘cosy’ and furnished beautifully. The breakfast was of a high standard with plenty of choice. We would definitely look to stay again, especially as it was such good value for money and right in the centre of the village.

We were here less than three weeks after our last visit. Our trips get closer together. Obviously, we love it! Everything is perfect- especially the staff. Thank you.

Lovely hotel and a short walk to Grasmere village. We had an executive King room which was very nice. Good size and spotless. Nice bar with reasonable prices (same food menu and prices as the restaurant but less formal and no need to book). We dined in the restaurant in the evening (need to book table in advance) and the service and quality of the food was very good. Portions were quite small but we didn't leave hungry and we didn't bother with starters as we had earlier had a quite big lunch...

Hard to access carpark on site. Very cramped entrance on a major slope and limited parking space. We were met on arrival after ringing doorbell by woman who wasn't very friendly. She asked us how we managed to get into reception as we apparently shouldn't have been able as door should have been locked or closed. Was a fantastic stay with friendly staff who looked after us. Absolutely one of the best stays on an hotel. Food also was excellent. Both me and my wife would recommend the Gateway.

This was our second stay at the Daffodil Hotel in Grasmere having previously stayed in February. The hotel is very clean and tidy with a very friendly and helpful reception staff. The onsite parking is great. We've just spent a lovely week at the Queen's Head at Troutbeck, Windermere. Lovely staff. Great food. Just near enough Windermere without being in the hustle and bustle and easy walks right from the door! We hope to return again soon.

Only stayed one night with my wife but thoroughly enjoyed it. Clean room, nice polite staff, nice food and the views are stunning. Will be back definitely 👍

After a long day walking, checking into The Churchill was quick. Great parking, near to pubs and restaurants and a great bar. Service was good and breakfast was excellent. Spacious room, clean and comfortable. Really good value for money. Would definitely stay again.
