Ancient temples and peaceful gardens create a city where tradition thrives alongside modern life. Visit Fushimi Inari's orange gates at dawn, then explore Arashiyama's bamboo forest when local joggers have it mostly to themselves.
We took a gamble staying here with it being a new hotel and there being no reviews but it absolutely paid off!! We had a wonderful stay here! The hotel is absolutely beautiful, and the rooms are really spacious!! The photos of the hotel dont do it justice. Its also spotlessly clean and they provide you with absolutely everything; face masks on arrival, perfect self pamper following a day of exploring! They also provide you with creams, all the toiletries you need, hair bobbles, ear plugs,...

Exquisitely beautiful and elegant hotel in a prime location in central Kyoto next to the local market and shops. 2 metro stops away from Kyoto station where you can catch the Shinkansen to Tokyo or Osaka. The staff are incredibly lovely, they are the most polite people and want to help with everything. They safely stored our bags before and after our stay so we could maximise exploring Kyoto. The hotel is presented very well with a classic modern Japanese feel. The room was very spacious with...

Loved the location of being nearer the old side of Kyoto. Spacious lobby was lovely along with rooftop bar. Balance between sympathetic design and modern luxury. Breakfast was excellent and very varied to others we had in Japan.
Room was good and a generous size. Ground floor didn’t have much light but that was okay as we were out all day.
Only negatives, only one chair in room and not many places to be comfy and relax. No bath. Laundrette was not nearly big enough, turned out to be very...

Whilst it’s slightly out of town centre, it is within walking distance of a number of attractions, and close to the subway. We used the subway a lot, and got the direct Hankyu line to Osaka an couple of times. Enjoyed the breakfast, and the complementary food etc in the lounge. I cam highly recommend it

A great stay. Room was lovely and spacious. Great view. Breakfast was delicious. Couldn't have asked for a better stay. Rooftop has free snacks and drinks with a fire pit. Had such a lovely time

Check in & out was so quick & easy, especially checking out - you just put your key card into a machine & you’re done. The hotel is in a great area as indicated by the ‘What did you like?’ section above. The rooms were always cleaned & restocked with bottled water, towels, etc.

The hotel is fairly new. It is centrally located within the district we stayed in about 4 km from Kyoto Station. The hotel staff were very helpful when we had to change our travel plans due to the cyclone that hit Tokyo and managed to find us alternative rooms in the hotel. Excellent service.

Our room was very spacious and totally quiet. The area was busy but perfectly situated for transport, shopping and dining whilst being in the heart of the city and yet only half an hours walk from most of the numerous major attractions. The staff were helpful and friendly and the free coffee etc was very welcome. We’d definitely return should we have the opportunity.

If you want to find some accommodation with fewer rooms than a hotel and a more personalised environment, a B&B may be the perfect thing for your trip to Kyoto. If you love to watch a show while travelling, you'll want to get tickets for Pontocho's Kaburenjo Theater or Minamiza Theater during your trip to Kyoto.
Why choose B&Bs instead of traditional hotels?
With attentive service, opportunities to meet other guests and hearty breakfasts, B&Bs provide a truly one-of-a-kind setting.
When you're planning your trip to Kyoto, year-round temperatures and rainfall may be important factors to consider. The hottest months are usually August and July, with an average temperature of 24°C, while the coldest months are January and February, with an average of 5°C. The rainiest months in Kyoto are July, June, September and October, with each month seeing an average of 206 mm of rainfall.
What is there to do in Kyoto?
Travellers who want to experience Kyoto should visit its temples and interesting historical sites. Spend some time exploring Kyoto Gyoen National Garden and Maruyama Park if you're hoping to see some of the area's natural features. You should put Kiyamachi Street and Pontocho's Kaburenjo Theater on your list if you want to see more of the area.
How can I get to and around Kyoto?
You can map out your trip in and around Kyoto ahead of time with these transportation options. Fly into Osaka (ITM-Itami), which is located 24 mi (38.6 km) away. Otherwise, you can search for flights to Kobe (UKB), which is 40 mi (64.4 km) away. If you'd like to explore around the area, you may want a rental car for your journey.
