"Before booking this trip, I was debating on this hotel in Kona vs Koloa Landing Resort on Kauai island. We stayed at Koloa Landing a year ago and loved it. But I chose the Marriott based on my previous experiences staying at the Wailea Marriott on Maui island. In comparison, this Kona Marriott felt less fancy compared to the other two. My kids did enjoy the waterslide. But overall the pool area is okay because the house flies were relentless. No matter where you sat, they were landing all over you. While I feel spraying chemicals aren’t always the best resolution, there could be other options like electric traps or "

"Nicely renovated older property. Our room was dated but there were updates to lighting, carpeting, and bedroom. You can tell the place was once an amazing property as units are large with large kitchens. Something you don’t find in the reasonable rent options these days. Lots of things to do on site! Overlooks the ocean. The only negatives were the old cooling and ventilation system, which unfortunately gave the condo a musty smell and the complex is part of Wyndham vacation club so they will try to sell you on seeing another property and buying a timeshare. Overall, a nice stay, though. "

"Breakfast was dry like it had been seating there awhile. Not much of a selection "

"Housekeeping does come unless you make a request. We asked for clean towels because we were out and if they could pock up the dirty ones. Told it would be about 25 to 28 minutes, after two hours still no towels, they did finally bring clean ones but didn't pick up the dirty ones. The monorail broke down countless times. Got our 20,000 steps in daily due to the tram down. It was not as nice as most Hiltons."
