Exquisitely beautiful and elegant hotel in a prime location in central Kyoto next to the local market and shops. 2 metro stops away from Kyoto station where you can catch the Shinkansen to Tokyo or Osaka. The staff are incredibly lovely, they are the most polite people and want to help with everything. They safely stored our bags before and after our stay so we could maximise exploring Kyoto. The hotel is presented very well with a classic modern Japanese feel. The room was very spacious with...

Whilst it’s slightly out of town centre, it is within walking distance of a number of attractions, and close to the subway. We used the subway a lot, and got the direct Hankyu line to Osaka an couple of times. Enjoyed the breakfast, and the complementary food etc in the lounge. I cam highly recommend it

The hotel itself was great, helpful staff that spoke good English, clean room with air conditioning, futuristic toilet facilities and an extremely comfortable bed. We arrived an hour before scheduled check in but they made the room available for us early as I think it was clear that we had been travelling for a long time (20 hours total from the UK, including lay overs).
The location was great for us as we were off exploring kyoto every day. Its fairly central to a lot of great sites,...

Having spent 5 nights at this modern, spotlessly clean, boutique hotel it's hard to find anything to criticise. The room was spacious, especially for Japan, the shower was superb and the bed was so comfortable. Kyoto is not a walking city but the location was great, in a small, quiet (and typical for Japan, safe) road behind the train station, opposite a 7/11 convenience store and next door to a artisan French style bakery. Easy walking distance to some, smart department stores and loads of...

Our stay was fantastic. The staff in particular were amongst the best hotel staff we have encountered, making us feel welcome and offering help for everything we needed (particularly with luggage forwarding!)
Absolutely wonderful location to base in Kyoto, making it easy to adventure out to different areas and cover significant ground.

Our trip to Kyoto was conceived in a rush and poorly planned, so we didn't fully research where to stay, but we struck lucky booking three nights at Nagi Kyoto Sanjo. It's a fantastic boutique hotel in a good location and reasonably close to Karasuma Oike subway station.
Had we known how good it would be we would have travelled straight to Kyoto rather than staying the first night in Osaka where we had a postage stamp sized room for the same price we were paying for Nagi Kyoto Sanjo.

This is the best Hilton I’ve stayed in. And I am a frequent traveller spending 150-200 nights per year in hotels.
Service was equivalent to a 5 star hotel. From check in, to managing luggage and taxis, to restaurant reservations. All perfect.
Rooms spacious and very well appointed.
