"A lovely relaxing stay in a brilliant location."

"Beautiful location with large rooms looking over Grassmere lake. The decor is clean fresh with great choice of colours. Super king bed was very comfortable and room temperature perfect. The artwork on all the walls is enjoyable and like being in a private gallery. Staff were all very informative and friendly, Ronny in the restaurant was particularly great. The food choice for breakfast is plentiful and although dinner menu small the food is beautifully prepared and presented. My only personal comment is that it would have been nice to have included a side of vegetables in the price rather than as an extra. Housekeeping spot on. The spa is spacious with thermal pool ( not really for swimming) sauna and steam room . Lovely after a day of activities. The grounds are well maintained and terrace provides a sunny location to relax and enjoy the views, or if feeling active you can access the lake for a cold water dip or launch your kayak ."

"Couldnt fault it apart from we were given a room we didnt book but let them know and they changed to a better room than what we had booked ,bit further to wak into bowness than anticipated but thats my fault ,buses are there but not frequent. "

"Breakfast was good with plenty of choice and enough for a vegan to eat. The hotel was warm and comfortable. There was a very nice Geordie lady meeting and greeting at breakfast. Marmalade was in short supply."

"I was really happy with my room alittle bit small but it was clean and thats the main thing .I think it could have some hand soap but apart from that nothing to complain about. ."

"Beautiful hotel with friendly staff and a great breakfast. It was a shame the steam room and showers in the hydrotherapy pool weren’t working but it didn’t spoil our stay. The hot tub on the patio made up for it. Would definitely return."

"From the minute we arrived we were made to feel welcome. The rooms were beautifully clean and housekeeping were in every day. Breakfast was really good a lot of variety, well cooked, always hot. Buffet style but replenished constantly. Well sited for the touring of the lakes by whatever way you wish to do so."
