"The room was clean, the bed was nice, the shower was a little weird since the door didn’t completely close in my room, and my toilet flushed weirdly. They cleaned my room every day and it was great stay, but I never really stayed in my room and I was out and about all day. There was some street noise, since you’re super close to Copacabana but overall a good place to stay since you are so close to everything."

We stayed during the carnival, to be honest i booked it because it was one of the cheapest during this period, so wasnt expecting much. However the minute we got out of the taxi, the doorman and reception staff were excellent and very helpful, courteous, especially Johnathan on reception. Hotel Nacional is a huge, modern and impressive looking hotel, but our stay did not get off to the best start. Check in took over 40 minutes after a long flight, and there always seemed to be queues at reception. The guy checking us took 20 minutes and seemed very slow. We'd booked two junior suites rooms and had asked to be on the same floor so our kids could be near us, but were put around 20 floors apart and were told the hotel was full, which was annoying.
