"Wonderful views! , a once amazing property but now needs much T.L.C ! Decoration exciting , wood build house fantastic design , benefit from thorough deep clean , including pool areas outside too . Appreciate difficulty keeping clean as in jungle area (had mouse in room! ) but great to see monkeys on our balcony. For the price would also expect more breakfast variety (same for 3 days )but was a pleasure to greeted by friendly Mattao the host with great coffee each morning . "

"The hotel is up the hill away from the madness of the beach and downtown areas, but still a 15 minute walk to the heart of Gavea and a 15 minute cab ride (download Uber or app called "99" before you go!) to Ipanema and Leblon. Everyone at the hotel is friendly and helpful. The breakfast each morning is superb, especially when the monkeys come and join you. The pool is small but the hot tub is great (you have to ask them to heat it up 40 minutes in advance, though, and they shut it down...

"This is a must see! The place is literally inside the forest with the most beautiful nature surrounding you. They have a pool that fills up with water from the purest waterfalls! The service is like no other... we felt like everything was personalized to us. We are amazed by everything and everyone at the Pousada Paraiso do Acu. Highly recommend!"

"You pay for the view. A great location, albeit reached via a dodgy road. Check in was tricky as the signage is poor. Breakfast was very average, as was the room, although the view from the room was spectacular. Check out was unprofessional as we had to pay for a couple of items from the fridge, but they had no change for cash and the card machine didn't work. Overall, poor value for money and we were pleased to only stay one night. "

"The reception area staff spoke adequate English, unfortunately in Rio, adequate is the best you will be looking to get so don't see this as a plus or minus. However they were welcoming and friendly. I didn't find them too attentive. The triple level bunks had ladders however the double bunks (at least in my room) came without. The bunks were sturdy and mattress comfortable, however not much head room when seated on the side. The hostel offered breakfast from 8/9 (i never woke up early...
